The NASW-CA EmpowerED Program is excited to offer the mandated coursework required for LCSW, LMFT and LPCC licensure in California for Out-of-State Applicants! Below is the coursework for out-of-state applicants who meet either Path A (All 3 Licenses) or Path B (LCSWs only) of the licensure process. To learn more about Path A and B, please click here.
Path A: Licensure by Credential
- This path is designated for those who have held a license as a Clinical Social Worker, MFT, or Professional Clinical Counselor in another United States jurisdiction for at least two years.

- This path is designated for those who have an MSW but have held a license as a Clinical Social Worker in another United States jurisdiction for LESS THAN two years.
