The NASW-CA EmpowerED Program does not currently offer a built-in audio feature to convert written course content into speech. However, there are numerous free text-to-speech (TTS) applications and browser extensions available that can assist with converting text to audio. One popular example is Read Aloud for Chrome, which is designed for users who prefer listening to content instead of reading, including individuals with dyslexia, other learning disabilities, and children learning to read.
Additionally, on the details page for each course in the NASW-CA EmpowerED Program library, the course format is clearly described. Formats include:
Text-based: Written content only
Mixed-media 1: Incorporates short video clips
Mixed-media 2: Incorporates recorded video from live presentations
Each course description also outlines the specific content included, such as online materials, case vignettes, reader exercises, video clips, webinar recordings, and more.
For additional continuing education options, you may also consider the NASW National Office’s Social Work CE Institute, a separate online platform offering recorded and live webinars at discounted rates for NASW members. More information is available at: https://naswinstitute.inreachce.com/
