NASW-CA offers the following courses that meet the BBS course work requirements for a California LPCC license.

 

1.    Child Abuse:                                         7 hr

2.    Human Sexuality:                                 10 hr

3.    Spousal/Partner Abuse:                       15 hr

4.    Alcohol and Chemical Dependency    15 hr

5.    Aging and Long-term Care                 10 hr

 

NASW-CA does NOT offer:

 

1.    A two semester unit or three quarter unit survey course in psychopharmacology. This must be taken through a university.

 

2.    12 contact hours of California law and professional ethics for professional clinical counselors. When coursework in a master’s or doctoral degree program is acquired to satisfy this requirement, it shall be considered as part of the 48 semester unit or 72 quarter unit requirement in subdivision (c).  This must be taken through a university.

 

3.    A minimum of 15 contact hours in crisis or trauma counseling, including multidisciplinary responses to crises, emergencies, or disasters, and brief, intermediate, and long-term approaches.
