It depends on when an individual started their role as a clinical supervisor. 

 

As of January 1, 2022, clinical supervisors who are new to this supervisor role in the year 2022 are required to take a one-time 15-hour clinical supervision course. The NASW-CA online program offers the following course that meets this requirement: Clinical Supervision of ASWs, AMFTs, and LPCCs. Once the 15-hour course is taken, the clinical supervisor is then mandated to take a 6-hour course during the following renewal period and every renewal period thereafter.

 

As of January 1, 2022, clinical supervisors who have been in the supervisor role before 2022 are required to take a 6-hour clinical supervision course every renewal period. The NASW Online CE Program offers the following course that meets this requirement: Clinical Supervision: Ensuring the Pre-licensure Practitioner's Scope of Competence
